# Ident.ink accessibility release gate

The accessibility gate is a release condition, not an automated certificate.

## The gate opens when

- changed journeys pass automated WCAG 2 A and AA checks at phone, tablet and desktop widths;
- every action is keyboard reachable and has a visible focus state;
- headings, landmarks, labels, control names and status messages describe their purpose;
- text and controls meet the applicable WCAG AA contrast target and do not rely on colour alone;
- zoom, narrow layouts, reduced motion, forms and recovery states remain usable;
- transactional email has a plain-text alternative and authentication codes are large, labelled, high contrast and copyable;
- representative journeys receive human keyboard, screen-reader and visual review;
- the release report records the result, time and evidence.

## The gate stays closed when

A changed journey contains a serious automated finding, an inaccessible keyboard path, unreadable content, an unlabelled control, a focus trap or a known assistive-technology failure.

Automated checks support the decision but do not replace human review. A passing report applies only to the version and journeys tested. A reported barrier reopens the gate for the affected journey until the correction is verified.
