01Who and what this notice covers
Ident Group Ltd controls Ident.ink's own service activity records as explained in the Privacy Notice and Imprint. This notice applies to visitors and both new and existing account holders. It explains the current service; publication does not introduce a new tracking permission or a new analytics contract.
Customer-published sites, customer workspaces and independent providers may have separate responsibilities and notices. This notice does not grant permission to track their users for unrelated purposes.
02Optional browser measurement requires a choice
Optional browser page views and marked interactions are enabled only after the browser allows Measurement through Cookies. Advertising is a separate choice. Choosing Use required only, or saving Measurement as off, disables future optional browser collection on that browser.
Existing accounts are not treated as having consented by remaining registered, staying silent, continuing to browse or failing to change a setting. Signing up or accepting account terms does not by itself allow optional measurement. Previous browser choices continue to apply under the cookie preference rules.
03Activity that may be recorded
When Measurement is allowed, the browser can send the page pathname and marked interaction events, such as a call-to-action click, suite interest or a selected onboarding goal. Event properties may describe the route, control target, feature, suite, goal, plan and application release. Query strings and fragments are removed from these fields; paths can still contain object identifiers.
The browser creates a visit identifier in session storage for optional page-view measurement. The service hashes this identifier before storing it with the event. The event can also contain a hashed network indicator and the signed-in account ID where available, together with the event name and time. These records are pseudonymous or account-linked, not anonymous daily counters.
The collector does not intentionally capture typed form contents, document bodies, uploaded files, passwords, payment-card data or keystrokes. Information present in a page address or a diagnostic error may nevertheless be personal information; the Privacy Notice and rights process apply to it.
04Service operations and diagnostics are separate
The service also records events needed to deliver requested features, protect accounts, investigate failures and operate the platform. Browser error diagnostics may include a bounded error name, message, source, page path and release. Error reporting is separate from optional page-view measurement and can operate without an optional cookie choice.
API operational metrics describe service, request method, route, status category, counts and response handling time. Account, billing, security and audit records retain their own purposes and access controls. Turning off optional measurement does not disable requested service operations or necessary security processing.
05Purposes and legal grounds
Optional browser measurement helps us understand navigation and use of features and improve the service, based on the applicable consent. Necessary reliability and security processing relies on the legal grounds described in the Privacy Notice, including legitimate interests subject to necessity, proportionality and applicable objection rights.
Publishing this notice does not enable default-on statistics, advertising profiling, sale of browsing histories, or any future collection method. Any material change to purposes, identifiers, recipients or collection rules requires its own assessment, notice and any permission required by law before it starts.
06Change or withdraw your browser choice
Use the persistent Cookies control, choose Manage optional cookies, switch Measurement off and save, or choose Use required only. You can return to the control to change the choice. Advertising remains independently controlled. Withdrawal does not sign you out or make earlier lawful consent-based processing unlawful.
The preference cookie is stored for up to 180 days and shared across Ident.ink subdomains. Choices are browser-specific: clearing storage, using a different browser or a new device may mean you need to choose again. There is currently no account-wide analytics opt-out setting; contact Support for a wider privacy objection or request.
A withdrawal stops future optional browser requests after the updated choice is applied. Requests already sent may have been stored. Ask Support about access, objection or deletion of identifiable records; exceptions and the retention rules in the Privacy Notice apply.
07Retention, access and reporting limits
Product-event records, including the browser diagnostics stored in that dataset, follow a 30-day scheduled cleanup. Detailed operational metrics are compacted after 14 days, hourly summaries are held for 90 days and daily summaries for up to two years. Cleanup is scheduled rather than guaranteed at an exact second.
Administrative statistics are restricted to authenticated staff with the relevant permission. Reports may summarise identifiable source records; an aggregate chart does not mean its source dataset is anonymous. Counts can include repeat events and can be affected by blockers, consent choices, bots and network failures. They are not a complete count of unique visitors.
Account, security, billing, legal-hold records and encrypted recovery backups have separate retention purposes and periods. Read Data retention and deletion and the Privacy Notice for those distinctions.
08Rights, optional agreements and complaints
You may contact Ident.ink Support for information, access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or consent withdrawal, subject to applicable law and exceptions. We may verify identity proportionately before disclosing personal information. Do not send passwords, authentication codes or unnecessary identity documents.
This notice is not an optional analytics contract or a waiver of privacy rights. Any separately offered optional agreement would require clear terms and a deliberate recorded acceptance. We do not create historic signatures or acceptance records for existing users by publishing a notice.
The Privacy Notice identifies the controller, contact routes and complaint rights, including the UK Information Commissioner and other competent supervisory authorities.
