What we changed. How it works. Where the limits are.
IdentInk publishes the useful details: product releases, feed behaviour, moderation boundaries, encryption limits and the infrastructure behind the service.
The feed starts with recent posts, prioritises people you follow, then considers useful engagement. Paid promotion receives a bounded boost and is always labelled “Promoted”. Payment cannot remove blocks, privacy rules or moderation.
02
Moderation
Known credential theft, configured unsafe phrases and domains, repeated spam, blocks and member reports are enforced on the server. Human admins decide reports. End-to-end encrypted plaintext cannot be scanned by the server; members retain block and report controls.
03
Private messages
E2EE uses device-held P-256 User Keys, conversation-specific HKDF-SHA256 keys and AES-GCM. IdentInk sees account and delivery metadata, public keys and ciphertext—not encrypted plaintext. Invisible live-chat ciphertext expires after five minutes.
04
Local infrastructure
Core data, cache, streams and object storage run on IdentInk-controlled infrastructure. Health, backups, quotas and cleanup jobs are operated locally so the product does not silently depend on a paid third-party cache or second server.
05
Legal governance
The Legal Centre versions the contract, acceptable-use rules, partner terms, community standards, refunds, incident handling, moderation appeals and dispute process. New registrations record the exact accepted version; historical acceptance records are not rewritten.
VERSION LEDGER
Every public release, in order.
Release notes are append-only records from the platform database.

VERSION 2.2.5
IdentBot account control and minimal Discord access
IdentBot now requires a one-time link to an existing Ident.ink account before setup, exposes direct website management and no longer requests broad Discord permissions.
Discord installation now requests only view-channel, send-message, embed and reaction permissions; Administrator is never requested.
A private 15-minute /link URL is required before /setup or workspace commands can run.
Linked users can manage server settings, tasks and decisions at /dashboard/identbot using their existing Ident.ink session.
Persistent reminders, website-controlled announcements and multiple linked servers are paid-plan features; export and deletion remain available.
The website announcement outbox uses bounded retries and no message mentions.
16
VERSION 2.2.4
IdentBot is live — business Discord, properly organised
IdentBot is now available for businesses using Discord. It adds clear briefs, decisions, tasks, reminders, polls, meeting notes and controlled announcements without reading ordinary server conversations.
Built for actual work: Use `/brief`, `/meeting`, `/decision`, `/task`, `/remind`, `/poll` and permission-controlled `/announce` commands.
Nothing created without you: IdentBot starts empty. A server administrator chooses `/setup`, and records exist only when members explicitly create them.
Minimal Discord access: No Message Content intent, no broad member-list access, no separate Ident.ink account and no reuse of the private Ident.ink operations bot.
Add IdentBot: [Review and install IdentBot](https://discord.com/oauth2/authorize?client_id=1501680327645728779&permissions=85056&integration_type=0&scope=bot+applications.commands)

VERSION 2.2.3
IdentBot standalone Discord service and automatic launch watcher
IdentBot is now correctly implemented as a dedicated public Discord bot service, not as a user-created dashboard project.
Removed the mistakenly created founder dashboard project and all of its related project records; no other user project changed.
Added a dormant five-second .env watcher for dedicated IDENTBOT credentials, automatic global command registration, connection verification and resilient credential rotation.
Added 14 business commands covering setup, briefs, meetings, announcements, decisions, tasks, reminders, polls, service help, privacy and administrator-controlled export/deletion.
Added empty, guild-isolated local storage that writes only after explicit commands, with rate limits, audit history, persistent reminders and automatic retention.
Successful first launch will publish one pinged Discord announcement and automatically mirror the same content to News and Transparency.
14
VERSION 2.2.2
Business dashboard redesign and IdentBot foundation
A task-first Business workspace and the secure foundation for IdentBot, the upcoming public business Discord bot.
Business dashboard: Replaced the oversized campaign layout with a compact operational workspace, readable project metrics, quick actions and responsive finance and tool panels.
IdentBot: Added a separate least-privilege Discord service foundation with guarded command registration and /brief, /decision, /announce and /identbot commands.
IdentBot project: Created one founder-owned private draft with its brand kit, launch copy and public preview at https://ident.ink/identbot.
Entitlements: Aligned the database project quota with founder and partner grants while retaining the quota trigger for normal accounts.
13
VERSION 2.2.1
Ident.ink update — simpler, safer and built to stay online
The latest Ident.ink platform update is live. Business Chat, account security and the wider dashboard now share a clearer experience, stronger session continuity and safer live deployments.
💬 Business Chat: [Open Business Chat](https://discord.ident.ink/dashboard)
Team channels, direct messages, replies, shared files, invitations, audit history, server controls and a rebuilt role-permission manager — all using your existing Ident.ink account.
🧭 Dumbify / Smartify: [Choose your mode](https://ident.ink/dashboard/settings?section=experience)
Dumbify presents plain labels and short page guidance. Smartify exposes the full advanced interface. The preference belongs only to your account and never changes your plan or permissions.
🔐 Rebuilt account security: [Open Security Settings](https://ident.ink/dashboard/settings?section=security)
Guided authenticator-app setup, encrypted authenticator seeds, verified email 2FA changes, automatic recovery codes and passkeys now live in one canonical security screen.
🔄 One account across Ident.ink: [Open Dashboard](https://ident.ink/dashboard)
The secure shared session now follows you across Ident.ink services. Legacy duplicate-cookie conflicts are resolved automatically while separate mandatory admin verification remains protected.
🛡️ Update-safe interface: [Service Status](https://status.ident.ink) · [Support](https://support.ident.ink)
Previous hashed CSS assets are retained during releases, static assets use immutable caching, critical layout styles are embedded, and browsers automatically recover if a stylesheet is interrupted during deployment.
